Final Project Presentation Guidelines
Format
v Presentations will be 10 minutes, plus around two/three minutes for questions.
v Every group member has to speak.
v The maximum number of slides is 20, including the title page. You’ll use zoom screen share tool for presentation.
Lay out of your presentation:
Title page: Project title and group members, you may use PNW logo, data source like logo CDC Motivation of the study (1 -2 slides)
§ Interesting information of the subject
Objectives/research question (1-2 slides.)
§ What questions are you trying to answer?
§ Why should you care?
§ Why should the audience care?
Description of data in words (1-2 slide.)
§ Where does your data come from?
§ Who are the individuals? What are your variables? How are they measured? Graphs (3–5 slides.)
§ Description of the variables included in the dataset. You may pick some key ones if you have many variables. Showing the relationships between variables is usually more informative than showing univariate graphs. So, you may use different data visualization tools Model/results (5–7 slides.)
§ You should talk about your modeling choices. Coefficients are only worth presenting if you are going to interpret them. Quality of the model.
Conclusions (1-2 slides)
Presentation: In addition to the scientific content of the project you will also be graded on professionalism.
§ Greet all audiences at the beginning
§ Dress up professionally,
§ Thank the audiences at the end of the talk and ask them if they have any questions. Answer questions (if there is any) calmly backed up by your model and data.
