Innovative Storage Management
Choosing the right storage is very crucial for the survival of many startup companies and corporations. Data storage plays an important part in today’s enterprises. Marketing departments are dealing with massive amounts of unstructured information from social media campaigns instead of neat spreadsheets from advertising agencies. The traditional application driven enterprise now needs storage which is tied to applications and this solution is known as Software-Defined Storage (SDS).
Most companies today are leaning towards SDS and seeing it the best solution to manage storage in the big data ages we live in.
Assignment
For this assignment, outline minimum of 6 Vendors that offer SDS. Discuss the key differences and advantages in terms of speed, cost, security, etc.
Lastly, in an essay format discuss the process of how can a traditional enterprise adopt SDS as an innovative solution for storage. Also investigate what will be the tradeoffs of doing so.
