Portfolio: Reading ACL Papers
You may work by yourself or with one other person.
To Do:
• Select one paper from the Long Paper Proceedings of the 2021 ACL conference:
https://aclanthology.org/events/acl-2021/#2021-acl-long
• One person/team per paper. First-come first-selected.
• Read the paper and prepare a 2-page summary
• Upload a summary document to eLearning and your portfolio. Summary document
should be at least 2 pages and should include:
o Title; author list and affiliations
o Summarize problem addressed by the paper
o Summarize prior work
o Describe the unique contributions of this paper
o Describe how the authors evaluated their work
o Include the number of citations the authors have received on Google Scholar,
and a brief conclusion of why you think their work was important. Often in
papers from universities, the lead (first) author is a PhD student and their advisor
is last. Find the person on the list with the most citations.
When you select your paper, copy/paste the reference from the Bibliography to the Google doc
linked below in the row with your name. Search the doc to make sure no one else selected that
paper.
Check this list to make sure your paper is not taken already. Sign up sheet:
